PLEASE READ THIS IF YOU READ NO OTHER INFO.
You do not need to read this all, once you pick up the basic concept, the rest
of the levels are easy to learn.
As you can see each section is headed with a bold border for easy reference.

Frag Tag (Map 2)
Ultimate Dog-Tag (Map 4)
Judas 22 (Map 6)
Status bar: For 4 player games, you'll notice your face on the
status bar indicates your team color (Thanks MrBlonde
for the idea and graphics):
Green and Indigo = Blue Team
Brown and Red = Red Team
On DWANGO, the order you join the team the determines your color:
1st person (Team Maker) - Green
2nd person - Indigo
3rd person - Brown
4th person - Red

RAMTAG : STAIRWAY TO FREEDOM for Doom ][ allows gameplay in one of 3 modes,
and allows you to choose which mode you want to play in from within the game.
The modes of play are:
- 4 player (team) Deathtag (This is the default mode)
- 2 player Deathtag
- Deathmatch
- To play 2 player Deathtag hit the switch labeled: 2 player Deathtag BEFORE
you teleport.
- To play 4 player TEAM Deathtag do not hit any switch.
- To play Deatmatch, hit the switch labeled: Deathmatch BEFORE you teleport.
Ramtag 4 player Dethtag
-----------------------
You all start in the starting area; a big room with 4 teleports
(2 red, 2 blue) and 2 switches (labelled Deathmatch and 2player
Deathtag respectively). DON'T TOUCH'EM !
It doesn't really matter who teams up, so grab a pardner and hop into
the teleporters !
To score, one partner hits a switch (blue or red skull switch) after
riding up the lift to get to it (Follow the sign and the torches for
the way to team's switch). Both the red and blue doors are south of
the switches, but can't be reached by one player in 4-player mode.
Hopefully, the switch hitter's partner is near the door and ready to
enter when the switch is thrown. When the door opens, the partner by
the door runs inside grabs the rad suit and is then teleported next
to the switch.
Now both partners can make their way to "The Stairway To Freedom" for
their team. Remember, only the player who has the rad suit will live
to get to the scoring area ! The other partner can protect his buddy
from the other team who are lurking around somewhere.
The partner who is doing the scoring runs up the stairs and flips the
switch on the south wall. This lowers the wall and reveals a red and
blue door. Your teams door will already be open ! Run inside, flip
the switch, and your team has scored a point !
The first team to 5 points wins the match. No further scoring will
be possible, and you'll now be able to access the exit area on the
east side of the map.
Ramtag in 2-player Dethtag
--------------------------
To play Ramtag in 2-player Dethtag mode, you must hit the switch
marked "2 PLAYER DEATHTAG" in the starting room. When you do this,
a shortcut opens up for both players between both switches and doors.
Other than that, it's just like 4-player mode !
Areas Available In Each Mode
----------------------------
4-player Dethtag - basically the entire south end of the map with the blue
and red doors in the east and west, and the switch areas
in the north.
2-player Dethtag - same as 4-player, but adds shortcuts between the doors and
switches.
Deathmatch - This mode closes off the scoreboard, doors on the bloody
stairway, scoring switches, the blue and red doors, the
switches that open both doors, and the reset and Dethtag
exit switches.
It opens up new areas not reachable in the other 2 modes
of play for an entirely different level ! There's also
more weapons and other stuph, too !
NOTE : If you hit the Deathmatch switch, the 2-player switch is cut off and
vice versa.

How to play:
Watch the Demo!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
FragTag is a true 2 player DeathTag Style level without all the cheating
or "no-suit" scores found in other 2 player tag wads. Like DogTag, you have
to get a radiation suit which allows you to survive on the lava long enough
to make your way to the south end of the level, where you must go up your
colored lift, down and out another lift and out to the ramp leading to the
scoring lanes. Whats different about FragTag is that radiation suits can
only be obtained cooperatively.
When you begin you find yourself in the starting room. You will see
two teleports, a scoreboard, and 2 doors labeled "Handicap Lane". The
"ALERT" sign is visible letting you know that the Handicap Lanes are
open and accessible. More on the Handicapping later. Green scores in
the blue lanes, Indy scores in the red lanes. Exit your teleport
and you will find yourself on your side of the playing field. The two
sides are blocked off from each other for now, but open up as soon as
radiation suits are obtained. Get a gun or two and go to your "Rad
Suit" door, and your opponent should do the same. Both of you must
now open your doors to get the radiation suits. Since it's actually a
double door, you will not be able to get a suit by yourself, the secondary
door on each side is lowered by pressing the front door on the other side,
making this a cooperative task. Make sure that before you press your door
that the other guy's door is fully closed, or that he has just opened it.
If he is standing in the doorway, keeping his door open...don't open yours,
as it will let him get a suit, but not you as your secondary door will have
already closed. These doors are actually lifts and are only open for a few
seconds, so be careful about when you open them. The colored bars to the
sides of the "Rad Suit" doors show you when your opponent opens his door.
After you both get your suits, you will be teleported back to the exit
pad and off you go. The dividing wall will lower allowing you to cross
over to each others side. Now run like hell to the south end as you must
go up your colored lift, in and around the tunnel, and down and out the
exit lift which will lower automatically. Doing this lowers a barrier in
the scoring lane, which makes a score impossible until this task is
accomplished. Next take the lift up and on to the scoring ramp and run
to your door. Press it, and it will lower, but it takes a few seconds
to open, so you better get ready to dodge some rockets while waiting.
There is a second door in the lane that opens and closes automatically and
is timed with the radiation suit. (Dogtag players will recognize this
feature) It closes as the radiation suit wears off, meaning that you
took too long to score and you will just die out there on the ramp,
as Fragtag does not give you an unlimited time to score. If you die,
you just start over. Make sure your colored bars are up which indicate
that the radiation suits have respawned and it is now possible to make
another scoring run. Be sure you are familiar with this feature...
the blue and red bars you see between the radiation suit doors and
also on each side at the entrance to the lava are actually very tall
lifts that are in synch with the radiation suits. Make sure that
these bars are visible before getting radiation suits. If they
aren't, you will find that when you get out there to score, the
secondary barrier door in the lane will be up, making a score
impossible. Anyway, if you do all this correctly you will be able to
run into your lane and get one point. Scoring and beamout is
automatic, and you will see a point registered on the scoreboard. The
game is played till someone gets 5 points at which time that player
will be rewarded with the BFG at the end of the lane and be teleported
to a small room which is a most likely still rising. (Its actually a
tall lift.) When this room stops rising, you will be facing an unlit
switch which lowers the door in front of you. This lets you back out
to the playing area where you can now belittle your opponent further
with the BFG. Also a sign outside will have lowered showing which
player has won. THE RESET DOES NOT WORK. Read DWANGOT1.TXT for more
information on why.
The Handicap Lanes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dynamite had the idea to make handicapping possible. This way, a
lesser player can be spotted points during the game to even things
out. Hopefully this will allow everyone to enjoy Fragtag no matter
who you are playing. You have only two opportunities to give away
points, at the begining of the game, or after someone reaches 4 points.
When you begin FragTag you will see two lanes with colored doors labeled
"Handicap Lane". To give a point, you must exit to the play area while
the recipient stays in the starting room. Do NOT press the unlit green
switches yet or you will block off the lanes. If the Blue (green) player
wants to give a point to the Red (indy) player, he must open his blue
"Rad Suit" door. It will also open the Red door in the start room.
The Red player just simply runs in and is teleported into the heart
of the scoring lane where he can proceed to get a point. The floor
is "hot" so don't delay. Now he will be beamed back to the start room
where another point may be given. When you are through giving out free
points, just press any of the switches to close off the Handicap Lanes.
They will remain closed until someone gets to 4, at which time they
reopen, making it possible to even out a lopsided score. If no further
handicapping is needed just close em off again and continue playing.
*IMPORTANT*
Be sure to close off the Handicap Lanes when they are not in use
to prevent accidental/cheat handicap scores.

Gameplay information
====================
DEATHTAG ][: WARZONE for Doom ][ allows gameplay in one of 3 modes, and
allows you to choose which mode you want to play in from within the game.
The modes of play are:
- 4 player (team) Deathtag (This is the default mode)
- 2 player Deathtag
- Deathmatch
4 PLAYER (TEAM) DEATHTAG
========================
Deathtag is a revolutionary new way to play Doom][. The goal of Deathtag
is to team up with a partner, and, with his help, score 5 points to win the
match. Frags are incidental (they dont count towards your winning), but
nothing is sweeter than fragging someone going for a score :).
How do you score? Here's a walkthru of Warzone in 4 player Deathtag mode:
You all start in the starting area; a big room with 4 teleports
(2 red, 2 blue) and 2 switches (labelled Deathmatch and 2player
Deathtag respectively). Ignore the switches for now.
Usually, Green and Indigo are the Blue team,
but just be sure you know who is on whose team before you start.
Ok, enter the teleports and you'll be in the map.
Take a look around. You'll see a big hill, with a blue switch on top,
and a door with red trim at the bottom of the hill. On the other side
of the map, there's a red switch on a platform in the forest, with
a blue-trimmed door behind it. Between these areas is the scoring zone
and the scoreboard. You will notice two doors on either side of the
entry to the lake on the north side of the map. These open when you
try to score.
To score, one partner hits a switch (blue or red skull switch) by
accessing the lift around it. His teams door is on the other side
of the map, where (hopefully) his partner is waiting. Once the door
is open, the other partner dashes in and snags the Rad suit, and
is teleported to the side of the map with his team's switch.
Then, both partners make a run for the scoring area. You will
notice that now, your teams door is open (by the scoreboard). ONLY
THE PLAYER WITH THE RAD SUIT CAN ENTER. All others will die on the
walkway. The player with the suit runs around the walkway, accesses
the lift in the middle, and then will see an open door with his teams
colors and a switch beyond it. This is the scoring switch. Hit it,
and you'll be teleported back to the main area. Expect A LOT! of
resistance from the other players, so be on the look out.
The first team to 5 points wins the match. No further scoring will
be possible, and you'll now be able to access the exit area on the
east side of the map.
2-PLAYER DEATHTAG
=================
2-player Deathtag is totally new. Using the same map, you can
play Deathtag when you cant find a partner. The rules are the same.
The only difference is that when you start, you MUST hit the switch
in the start room labelled 2 PLAYER DEATHTAG. Once you do this, a
shortcut is opened up between the switches and the doors (look for
it in the East wall of the Blue switch area and in the West wall
of the Red switch area) that will allow one player to hit the switch
and then get to the open door and get the suit before the door shuts.
First one to 5 points wins.
DEATHMATCH
==========
This is...well...er..um..Deathmatch. Same 'ole same 'ole folks. To
play Warzone in Deathmatch mode, hit the switch in the start area
labelled DEATHMATCH. When you enter the map, all the Deathtag stuff
will be gone, and a new (regular) exit will be available. Frag
away!
NOTE: If you choose Deathmatch first, you will be able to open the 2 player
shortcut if you want to use it in Deathmatch. Just hit the 2 player
switch after you choose Deathmatch. If you choose 2 Player first,
the Deathmatch switch becomes unavailable.

How to play:
- There are two teams, Blue (Green & Indigo) and Red (Brown & Red). You
must have four players to play Deathtag. (Although its fun to play
2 player, taking turns opening each others door and trying to score)
- There are two forts, a blue one and a red one.
- Within each fort is a switch which opens a colored door in the other fort.
Behind the door is a Radiation Suit. So, Deathtag requires that one
player hit the switch, and that the other get the suit. Once you get
the Rad suit, you'll be teleported to the same fort your switch-hitting
buddy is in. Then, you make a run for the North side of the map.
You'll have to cross a sea of hot lava and access a lift to reach
the scoring ramp. Run in your scoring lane (red or blue) and you have
automatically scored one point, and teleported back to the main playing area.
Note: You can ONLY take the suit out of your own fort. The blue team
gets their suit out of the blue fort, the red team gets their suit out
of the red fort. If the blue team obtains the suit out of the red fort,
the game will only allow you to score a red point, so stealing the other
teams suit is of no benefit and is somewhat frowned upon.
U_DogTag is also fun with just two players. You just take turns pressing
each others switch and trying to score.
Features
========
- Points. You play to 5 points. Each time successfully enter your
scoring lane, a point will be tallied on the scoreboards, which can be
seen in several places. Once a team has 5 points, the scorer will
be beamed to a raised area on the north side of the level with a very
tall lift. To win the game, you must lower and cross onto this lift
(Expect lots of resistance from the other team). Crossing onto the lift
teleports you to a seperate room with two more teleports, a Blue one and
a Red one. Enter the teleport of your teams color to win the game, and
reveal a reset switch in the playing area. If you get killed, you must
get the suit and try again. Meanwhile, the other team can continue to try
to catch up. You should keep up with the other teams score and be ready with
lots of rockets if they are making a scoring run with 4 points on the
board. You will have this last chance to stop them from winning the game.
It is critical that your partner come to your aide, if you are to make it
on to the lift and win.
- Scoring Activity indicators. These colored mini-lifts are visible on the back
wall of each fort, to either side of the colored doors, and in the entryway
to the scoring area, and they serve a dual purpose. These mini-lifts drop
when a team gets the rad suit, so viewing these tells you if a team is making
a scoring run. If the other teams indicators are down, get your butt out there
and try to stop them. These lifts and in synch with the door to each scoring
lane, which is another very tall lift. Once you get the suit, your scoring
lane will be open for about 30 seconds. If you don't make it, and return to
get the suit again, make sure that your indicators are back up, since you
can't send a lift back down until it has stopped moving. The wait may seem
like an inconvienence, but making the entrance doors out of lifts corrects
some far more annoying problems with earlier deathtag style pwads and
prevents cheating.
- Scoring Lanes. You will notice that the doors to the scoring lanes stay open
for a limited length of time (more that enough to score). They close at
about the same time the radiation suit wears off, so don't delay your
entry. This is done with the use of some very very tall lifts, which
act as doors to the scoring lanes. They drop very far below the entrance
which gives you plenty of time to score before they come back up. This
dealt with the problem in dethtag.wad, where the lava lake was often
closed off if your opponent had just gotten a point. As mentioned earlier,
these are in synch with the indicators in the forts, so DO NOT get your
suit until your colored indicators are back up. If you do, your scoring
lane will NOT be open. Unlike in Dethtag.Wad, you no longer have to press
a switch in the scoring lane to score. Just run in and you pass a series
of lines that does the same job, but is 100 percent effective, and beamout
is automatic. No more botched scoring runs because the wall came up before
you got to the switch! Don't bother trying to score twice with the same
suit, once you enter the lane, a second barrier closes to keep this from
occuring, and it won't go back up until you get the suit again. Since this
door closes behind you automatically, keep it moving once you enter the
lane. If you stop short at the entrance, you may trigger this door, and
not be able to get in.
- Weapons. Rockets, super shotguns, and chainguns only.
- Megaspheres. There is a megasphere it the rear of each scoring lane,
but you can't get it until your 5th point. You will need it if you
are to survive the rocket barrage that will be waiting for you when you
beam back to the main area and try to cross the ending lift.
Comments
========
I made all these changes, because I liked the DeathTag concept, but felt
that other levels made for less fragging and more sniping. Here, frags are
much more common (even though they don't count) and scoring is much harder.
The act of scoring is not harder, its just much easier to stop a scoring
attempt, which is the part I like best. The new ending makes for a wild
finish, and I think this pwad will appeal to those who didn't care for
DeathTag, since it was too much strategy, not enough carnage, and those
of you who know about the SuperSpeed Doom bug will really enjoy the south
to north layout of the scoring lanes.

D E A T H T A G
Forget EVERYTHING you ever knew about deathmatch.
How to play:
============
- There are two teams, Blue (Green & Indigo) and Red (Brown & Red). You
must have four players to play Deathtag.
- There are two forts, a blue one and a red one, each indicated by colored
skulls and torches surrounding the fort.
- Within each fort is a switch which opens a secret door in the other fort.
Behind the door is a Radiation Suit. So, Deathtag requires that one
player hit the switch, and that the other get the suit. Once you get
the Rad suit, you'll be teleported to the same fort your switch-hitting
(heh heh) buddy is in. Then, you make a run for the East side of the
map. You'll have to cross a long sea of hot lava and access a lift
to reach the scoring area. Hit your teams switch (red or blue) and
you have scored one point!
Note: You can ONLY take the suit out of your own fort. The blue team
gets their suit out of the blue fort, the red team gets their suit out
of the red fort. If the blue team obtains the suit out of the red fort,
the game will only allow you to score a red point.
- Points. You play to 5 points. Each time you score by hitting your colored
switch, you will notice a pole rising out of the ground with your team's color
on it. Once a team has 5 poles coming out of the ground, the poles will
effectively block off all additional scoring and the game is over. The
exit is not available until a team reaches five points. When five points
have been reached, a colored stair will raise out of the ground indicating
which team won.
- Megaspheres. You will notice two megaspheres, one in each fortress. These
are ONLY available if the score is tied 4 to 4. This adds an extra element
to the final battle for the last point.
- Teleports. When you first start, you will see colored teleports. Going
into the blue will take you to the blue side of the battlefield, and going
into the red will take you to the red side of the battlefield.
- Telefrags. Since frags are not the goal, telefrags coming out of the starting
area are frowned upon.
- How can you see the score? You count the score based on the number of poles
rising out of the ground. There are several places you can find these poles.
There are several places you can see what the score is:
In the starting area.
The scoring area facing the sea of lava.
The red and blue fort, each has a scoreboard next to the switch.
▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

How to Play:
------------
In essence, one player (let's call him player #1) must invade the
enemy fort and flip a switch (as in U_DTAG.WAD) to lower bars back in the
home fort. The second player (player #2) is then able to pass through these
bars and has access to a teleporter. BEFORE entering the teleporter,
player #2 MUST flip the switch on the wall (directly before the teleporter)
to lower the first lift on the scoring ladder. Player #2 may then pass
through the teleporter and should step forward to board the awaiting lift.
As player #2 ascends each lift, the next highest lift will lower until he
reaches the top of the scoring ladder. Player #2 should then drop down into
the scoring area.
In the scoring area, a player will have access to a scoring switch
and, after five points, the FLAG switch. Colored "point markers" (skull
posts) are visible throughout the level to indicate score:
one skull = one point
Once the preliminary five points have been scored, a player will be denied
further access to the scoring switch and MUST HIT THE FLAG SWITCH TO WIN THE
MATCH. Colored panels will then be revealed throughout the level to indicate
which team has won, and an exit door corresponding to the winning team's
color will also open.
Note that a match can only be played to six points, and sometimes
only one match may not be adequate. In such a case, I would recommend
playing an entire game in SETS OF MATCHES:
Best of three games = 2/3
Best of five games = 3/5
Best of seven games = 4/7
Best of nine games = 5/9
etc.
* 4-4 Tie *
In the event that both teams simultaneously reach a score of four
points, a powerful weapon will become available (but ONLY while BOTH teams
have four points). In the building across from the scoring ladders rests
either a plasma rifle (SKILL 1/2/3), or a BFG9000 (SKILL 4/5). Again, ONLY
during that time in which BOTH teams have four points will this weapon become
available to "spice things up."
Note that players must enter the "Big Weapon" building from inside
a fort via teleporter. This same teleporter can also provide a fairly quick,
if indirect, route to the scoring ladders in case a player needs to cover
his partner...
* Teams *
Generally, players divide into teams according to color:
Green & Indigo = BLUE Team
Brown & Red = RED Team
However, players may choose teams in any manner they wish as long as TWO
teams are formed.
Obviously team play is necessary in order for players to score. One
player must flip the proper switch in the enemy fort so that his teammate
may gain access to the scoring ladder. However, you'll note that a player
ascending the scoring ladder is completely exposed to enemy fire for a
considerable amount of time. Thus, it is almost imperative that while one
player is ascending the ladder, his partner PROTECT him until he reaches the
safety of the scoring area. A good team will learn and devise the best
strategies necessary for accomplishing this task.

How to Play :
Mountain King is a wad based on a new idea
similar to the Capture the flag concept. I'm Sure
you all have seen the DethTag Series and various
spin off's, but this wad is a LOT different. No
annoying Rad Suits to wait for, No long lava pits
or skull Posts to read the score. MK features
a live scoreboard that displays each players total
points (green, indigo, red, brown, red team, and
blue team) The object of the game is to score
5 points and then proceed to the Final scoring pod
where a player will win the game.
* There is a Large mountain to scale, once at the
top you must lower a floor by hitting the down
switch and get inside your scoring pod. If you
get killed while the floor is lowering, your
enemy can raise it back up with the Up switch.
* Once you have scored 5 points, then your goal is
to get to the final scoring area (west on the map)
and locate your final score switch. Once you
enter the final scoring area, a sign will appear
that says "Look Out!!" Warning the other players
that somebody is about the win the game.
* If you are successful in scoring the final point
then the exit will become available.
* Its a simple concept, no strange switches to find
or wierd traps to overcome.

Same as above except you play in teams. One person scores while the other
protects. It needs 2 or 4 players to work right.

RAMTAG 3 : DEADLY XPOSURE for Doom ][ allows gameplay in one of 4 ways, and
allows you to choose which mode you want to play in from within the game.
The modes of play are:
- 4 player Team Dethtag (This is the default mode)
- 2 player Dethtag
- 3 player Dethtag
- 4 player Dethtag
The goal of Team Dethtag with 4 players is to team up with a partner, and,
with his help, score 5 points to win the match. Frags are incidental (they
dont count towards your winning), but nothing says lovin' than fraggin'
someone in the back!
How to play RamTag 3 in 2/3/4 player Dethtag
--------------------------------------------
You all start in the starting area; a big room with 4 teleports
and 3 switches (labelled 2, 3, and 4). Hit the "2" switch for 2
players, the "3" switch...you get the idea. After the switch has been
flipped, the level will be arranged to fit the style of play you have
chosen. Now, hop into a teleporter and get ready to rock !
Once in the outside area, you'll find a scoring area that matches
your color (green, indy, whatever), along with a scorebored labelled
with your color too.
THIS IS IMPORTANT : The switch to open the green player's door is
behind the red player's scoring area (all switches that open the doors
are lion switches). The switch for the brown player's door is behind
the indigo players' area and vice versa. The switches in the middle
of the small puddle of water close the door that is directly in front
of you when you are facing that switch. (ex. The switch on the eastern
side of the pole closes the green player's door)
Once you have the switches figured out, climb the steps up to your
scoring area. The last step is a lift ! When you're inside, flip the
switch and you score a point. You'll notice that the switches for
your 4th and 5th points are actually outside ! Be careful, someone
might be waiting for you ! After you have scored your 5th point, a
wall raises up and blocks off your door. There's also a door that
opens up in the exit building in the north just for you !
How to play Team Dethtag
------------------------
If you want to play Team Dethtag, then don't do anything in the
starting area except jump in a teleporter ! This is the default
mode when you first begin RamTag 3.
OK, let's say you're on the Blue team and you're the one who is
hitting the switch to open the door. Once your partner has made it
to the top of the hill up to the blue building, hit the blue switch
which opens the door for 6 seconds. Your buddy will run inside, hit
a switch to score a point, and be teleported back to the area outside
of the starting room. Repeat this four times and you've won !!
Once either the red or blue team has scored 5 points a door opens up
in the exit building allowing you to leave.

Hopefully by now you've learned all instructions. If you need more help,
watch the demos or ask someone on DWANGO to teach you. If no one wants
to teach you log on to the Pheonix server and look for me 'DEATH111', I'll
teach ya. Don't ask me until you have read this entire text file and
watched the demos.
